Shooters stayed at Shamli hotel for two days, conducted Ankit's recce
LUCKNOW, Sept. 1 -- The investigation into the murder of Haryanvi singer and YouTuber Ankit Baliyan has revealed that suspected shooters Mohit and Sumit had stayed at a hotel in Shamli for two days before the killing and may have conducted a recce of the victim, police said.
According to investigators, Mohit and Sumit checked into Surya Hotel in Shamli on August 20 and stayed there on August 20 and 21. CCTV footage from the hotel has captured both suspects, providing investigators with an important lead into their movements and the alleged planning of the murder.
Police suspect that the duo used their stay in Shamli to monitor Baliyan's movements and routine before executing the attack. Investigators are examining the hotel's CCTV footage and other evidence to establish whether the suspects visited locations associated with the singer during their stay and whom they may have met.
Meanwhile, police have identified two more elusive suspects in connection with the murder as Aryan and Satyam. Both are below 25 years of age and are being traced as investigators widen the probe into the conspiracy behind Baliyan's killing.
The identification of Aryan and Satyam is significant as police are trying to establish the complete chain of the conspiracy, including those who allegedly conducted the recce, provided logistical support or weapons, sheltered the assailants and facilitated their movement before and after the murder.
Investigators are also analysing CCTV footage, digital evidence and the movements of the suspects to determine their individual roles and links with the alleged shooters.
Police suspect that the killing was not an impulsive crime but was planned in advance, with the suspects allegedly tracking Baliyan's routine before the attack. The investigation is continuing to establish who ordered the killing and the wider network behind the murder. htc...
