India, Aug. 4 -- Grammy awardee and singer-composer Shankar Mahadevan is excited to perform during the opening ceremony of the fourth edition of Uttar Pradesh T20 League (UPT20) at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Cricket Stadium on August 14. He will be performing with his sons Siddharth and Shivam Mahadevan. Dhurandhar-fame singer Jasmine Sandlas will also perform on the opening evening. Mahadevan tells HT City, "For me Lucknow is always an exciting place because it is a perfect combination of culture, poetry, ada and music. The humour and language of the city is really very beautiful and inspirational." The singer adds, "I'm really happy to be coming back to the city and performing there for the UP T20 league. I'm excited and looking forward to it and believe that it will be a wonderful evening." The event will also witness a cricket and Uttar Pradesh theme-based drone show followed by the fireworks. UPT20 Governing Council chairman Sanjay Kapoor says, "We are looking forward to host them in front of the Lucknowites alongwith Jasmine. Initially, we had announced that sitarist Rishabh Rikiram Sharma will perform but it could not work out. We hope to make his opening ceremony UP Ka Utsav (celebration) before the cricket tournament begins with Suresh Raina (ex-cricketer) as brand ambassador."...
