LUCKNOW, Sept. 22 -- As genetic and genomic testing increasingly becomes part of diagnosis and treatment of inherited disorders, the Sanjay Gandhi Postgraduate Institute of Medical Sciences (SGPGIMS) on Monday began a two-week national training programme aimed at strengthening the country's pool of medical genetics and genetic counselling professionals, said a communique. The 23rd ICMR Course on Medical Genetics and Genetic Counseling was inaugurated at the Sanjay Gandhi post graduate institute's Department of Medical Genetics on September 21 and is scheduled to continue till October 3.
