PRAYAGRAJ, Feb. 25 -- Swami Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati has given a notice to the office of the government advocate prior to filing an anticipatory bail application before the Allahabad high court in connection with an FIR alleging sexual harassment of minor children at his camp during the recently concluded Magh Mela. The FIR was registered against Swami Avimukteshwaranand, his disciple Mukundanand Brahmachari and three unidentified persons at the Jhunsi police station in Prayagraj on February 21 following a directive from a special POCSO court. As per a high court rules, an applicant is required to notify the office of the government advocate before filing an anticipatory bail application in the HC registry.The application seeking registration of the case was moved by Shankari Peethadheshwar Ashutosh Maharaj, one of the plaintiffs in the Krishna Janmabhoomi-Shahi Eidgah title dispute.
