Science city premieres dinosaur film, draws over 300 visitors
LUCKNOW, June 20 -- Regional science city on Friday premiered its new SCIMAX full-dome film 'The Great Dinosaur Secret,' at the SCIMAX Theatre, bringing the prehistoric world to life through a 360-degree immersive experience.
The film takes viewers on a journey through the age of dinosaurs, combining recent palaeontological discoveries with advanced visual effects. More than 300 students, teachers and visitors attended the inaugural screening.
VP Gaur, deputy director general of the geological survey of India (GSI), was the chief guest. He said the science city had played an important role in promoting scientific temper through its galleries, exhibitions and interactive programmes.
Gaur also delivered a talk on the evolution, characteristics and extinction of dinosaurs, explaining how fossil evidence has helped scientists understand their history. The session sparked keen interest among students, who asked questions on topics ranging from Tyrannosaurus rex to mass extinction.
Mukund Sharma, former senior scientist at the Birbal Sahni Institute of Palaeosciences, and Hemant Kumar, director, GSI Lucknow, attended as guests of honour.
