LUCKNOW, June 5 -- Sarojininagar MLA Rajeshwar Singh on Thursday felicitated 250 gardeners from his constituency and distributed premium gardening kits and T-shirts under a Special Gardening Kit Distribution Programme held at his Ashiana residence. Organised with the support of Shri Pitambara Baglamukhi Siddhapeeth Uttarakhand Trust, Environment Warriors and Green Smile Society, the event recognised individuals contributing to environmental conservation and the promotion of greenery. Addressing the gathering, Singh described gardeners as the "frontline warriors" of environmental protection and urged citizens to adopt gardening, plant at least one sapling and ensure its proper care. He said challenges such as declining groundwater levels, indiscriminate tree felling and shrinking water bodies require collective action from society. Emphasising his vision of a greener Sarojininagar, the MLA said environmental conservation cannot be achieved through resolutions alone but through sustained public participation. On the occasion, Singh also provided financial assistance of Rs.1 lakh each to two widowed and destitute families. With the latest assistance, 17 needy families, including 10 widows from the legal fraternity, have received support of Rs.1 lakh each under his ongoing welfare initiative....
