BUXAR, May 24 -- The helicopter of Bihar chief minister Samrat Choudhary had to make an emergency landing at the airport ground as dust didn't allow the copter to land at the Fort Ground where the CM was supposed to land.
The CM's copter landed at the airport ground without any security or barricading in place, said officials. Interestingly, some boys were playing cricket there when the CM's copter arrived surprisingly. According to officials, the pilot tried twice but so much dust swirled over the ground that the pilot could not see anything. Police officers on duty at the Fort Ground said that finally the pilot diverted the helicopter to the airport ground. The CM was hurriedly escorted from the airport to the venue. One of the boys, who were laying cricket, said: "We were playing a cricket match without knowing that the CM would land among us. Suddenly, a helicopter started hovering in the sky. Then some policemen came running and told us to retreat. In no time, the CM's helicopter landed in front of us. At first, we couldn't understand what was happening." However, despite all these chaos, the chief minister completed all his programs in Buxar. He performed puja at the Vamana Temple and the Rameshwar Nath Temple, inaugurated a light and sound show, and returned to Patna the same day. But this incident left many puzzled about the preparation of the administration.
Locals say that the helipad built in the Fort Ground was very poor. The sand was not placed between the bricks, and water was not sprayed properly to control dust. If the administration had a backup plan, the CM would not have had to land so unprotected....
