S.I.T set up to probe minority scholarship irregularities
Haridwar, July 14 -- Haridwar police constituted a special investigation team (SIT) to probe alleged financial irregularities in the implementation of the Minority Students Scholarship Scheme involving 19 schools and colleges across the district, officials said on Monday.
According to Senior Superintendent of Police Navneet Singh Bhullar, an FIR has been registered against the 19 educational institutions following a complaint lodged by the district minority welfare officer alleging financial irregularities in the disbursal of scholarships under the central scheme.
Bhullar said the SIT will be headed by Circle Officer (Sadar) SP Baluni, who has been directed to conduct a thorough investigation and submit the report at the earliest.
"The FIR has been registered on the complaint of the district minority welfare officer. An SIT has been constituted to investigate the alleged financial irregularities and submit its report in the shortest possible time," Bhullar said. The institutions under investigation are located in Roorkee, Laksar, Dhanauri, Puhana, Bhagwanpur, Bindukhadak, Mustafabad, Gadowali, Tikkampur Bahadrabad, Ahmadpur Grant, Imli Kheda and Badethi Rajputana areas of Haridwar district.
