s.i.t FORMED to probe missing minors in M.P
Bhopal, July 21 -- A special investigation team (SIT) has been constituted to probe the disappearance of five minor girls from a shelter home in Itarsi in Narmadapuram district, police said.
Police registered five separate FIRs last week related to the missing girls from Muskan Girls' Shelter Home. The shelter is run by Manish Thakur, husband of a local BJP leader and chairperson of the Municipal Council. Despite repeated attempts by phone, Thakur could not be contacted for a comment until late on Monday.
The first girl went missing in July 2024, three more in December 2025, and another one on June 14 this year.
On Monday, police recorded statements from inmates, said investigators.
Preliminary findings suggest three girls aged 15-17 disappeared at night. Families and relatives contacted by police have not responded.
The SP said he has written to the collector, flagging the delay in filing FIRs and seeking an inquiry into irregularities at the shelter....
