Meerut, Dec. 16 -- Amroha police have arrested four people for abducting and extorting money from a property dealer by threatening to implicate him in a fake rape case. The individuals arrested are a Prantiya Rakshak Dal (PRD) jawan, two history-sheeters, and a woman. Meanwhile, two key accused, including the alleged mastermind, who is a sub-inspector in Hapur, were absconding. According to police, the FIR in connection with the incident was registered at the Gajraula police station of Hapur on December 14. The complainant, Naim Ahmed, who hails from Sambhal district, lodged a complaint stating that sub-inspector Nitin Kumar Verma threatened to frame him in a false rape case, abducted him, and extorted Rs 1.25 lakh from him. Naim alleged that SI Verma, posted at Simbhawali police station in Hapur, and a resident of Changeri village under Dilari police station in Moradabad, orchestrated the crime. Acting on the complaint, Gajraula police launched an investigation and, with the help of CCTV footage and surveillance, identified the accused. Police then arrested history-sheeters Khalid (from Simbhawali) and Deepak (from Khem Singh Colony in Gajraula), PRD jawan Lakhan and Kaushar (from Rajheda village under Simbhawali police station limit). Key accused S-I Verma and Naveen Verma, who also hails from Gajraula, were at large. Superintendent of police Amit Kumar Anand said the sub-inspector and his associate Khalid, who already knew the complainant, conspired to extort money from him. As part of the plan, Khalid called Naim to Amroha on December 11 on the pretext of showing him a plot near the under-construction new police lines. Meanwhile, SI Nitin brought PRD jawan Lakhan to Amroha in the name of conducting a raid. The accused made Naim sit in their vehicle, while Deepak arrived at the site along with his associate Naveen. After Naim reached the location, the accused forcibly put him in the vehicle and took him near Gajraula police station. There, the accused threatened to implicate Naim in a fake case. They called Kaushar to the spot and told Naim that he would be framed in a rape case involving her....
