Rs.6-cr assets of drug traffickerattached in Bbk
LUCKNOW, May 3 -- In a crackdown on narcotics networks, the Barabanki police and district administration attached immovable assets worth over Rs.6 crore belonging to an alleged drug trafficker under provisions of NDPS Act.
The action was carried out against Misbah-ur-Rehman alias 'Ajjan', a history-sheeter from Tikra Murtaza village under Zaidpur police station, following orders of the competent authority and adjudicating authority in New Delhi under Section 68F(2) of the NDPS Act, 1985.
Police said the accused, who has been involved in drug trafficking for over 25 years, amassed substantial illegal wealth through narcotics trade. The attached property includes a residential house and commercial market built on a 558.70 sq metre plot in Nawabganj area, registered in the name of his wife, Nagmi Khatoon.
The action stems from a long-standing NDPS case and multiple other cases. The accused is listed as a gang leader of an inter-district drug syndicate and has more than 20 criminal cases registered against him....
