Rs.5,041 crore to strengthen textile ecosystem
Lucknow, Feb. 12 -- The state government has made a proposal of Rs 5,041 crore in FY 26-27 for the handloom and textile industry.
With this allocation, the government has set a target to generate 30,000 employment opportunities, mostly in rural areas. For the uplift of both handloom and power loom weavers, a provision of Rs 4,423 crore is proposed for the 'Atal Bihari Vajpayee Powerloom Bunker Vidyut Flat Rate Yojana'. This proposal will largely benefit rural folk involved in handloom and power loom sectors.
In the budget, a provision of Rs 150 crore is also proposed for the Uttar Pradesh Textile and Garmenting Policy-2022.
Under the 'Mukhyamantri Gramodyog Rozgar Yojana' for the year 2026-2027, a target of providing employment to 16,000 people by establishing new enterprises through Rs 40 crore bank loan to 800 units.
A new scheme is proposed for the modernisation of the Kambal Utpadan Kendra, Khajni, Gorakhpur, with a provision of Rs 7.50 crore
Under the Uttar Pradesh Mati Kala Board, a provision of Rs 13 crore has been proposed for the Mati Kala Samanvit Vikas Karyakram, aimed at the overall development of traditional pottery artisans....
