Rs.25l recovered in cyber fraud linked to fake INVESTMENT: STF
Dehradun, July 13 -- The Uttarakhand Special Task Force (STF) has recovered and returned Rs.25.40 lakh to a victim who was duped in a cyber fraud involving a fake investment trading scheme, officials said on Sunday.
The recovery was made as part of the STF's ongoing crackdown on cyber fraudsters. According to the STF, prompt action is being taken on cybercrime complaints received on a daily basis, enabling the cyber team to trace and recover defrauded amounts in several cases. In the latest case, the victim was allegedly lured into investing money through a fraudulent investment trading scheme and was cheated of Rs.25.40 lakh. Acting swiftly after receiving the complaint, the STF's Cyber Police team succeeded in recovering the entire amount and returned it to the victim. Senior Superintendent of Police (STF) Ajai Singh urged the public to remain vigilant against cyber fraud. He advised people not to click on unknown links or share OTPs, bank account details, CVV numbers or passwords with anyone....
