Rs.16.2 cr sanctioned for ACO divisional office buildings in four regions
LUCKNOW, April 15 -- The UP government sanctioned Rs.16.20 crore for constructing administrative office buildings for the Anti-Corruption Organisation at divisional level in four regions of the state.
According to an official order issued by the home department's police section on April 10, the state granted administrative and financial approval for constructing new office buildings for ACO units in Basti, Meerut, Agra and Azamgarh divisions.
The sanction is viewed as part of the government's wider effort to strengthen the institutional and operational capacity of agencies tasked with probing corruption complaints, conducting trap operations and pursuing vigilance inquiries against public servants. The order, issued by the special secretary, home, and addressed to the additional director general of police, police headquarters, Lucknow, states that the approval was granted with the governor's consent.
The highest amount, Rs.4.41 crore, has been earmarked for the proposed administrative building of the Agra divisional unit. This is followed by Meerut division with Rs.3.98 crore, Basti with Rs.3.93 crore, and Azamgarh with Rs.3.86 crore.
The government has also identified separate executing agencies for the projects. Officials said the creation of dedicated office infrastructure is expected to improve administrative efficiency, record management, inter-agency coordination and complaint processing at the divisional level.
