Rs.13.83-cr bridge approved over Lapri river in Koraon
PRAYAGRAJ, Oct. 10 -- The government has granted administrative and financial approval for the construction of a two-lane bridge over the Lapri river on the Bahraicha-Mahuli road in Koraon assembly constituency at a cost of Rs.13.83 crore.
Governor Anandiben Patel has approved the release of the first instalment of Rs.6.91 crore for the bridge, including its approach roads and safety works. The project has been sanctioned under the state plan for long-span bridges in rural areas, stated district officials.
The proposal for the bridge was submitted by Koraon MLA Rajmani Kol. During a review meeting on development projects in Prayagraj on July 5, chief minister Yogi Adityanath directed the Public Works Department (PWD) to prepare and submit a proposal for its construction.
Following the directive, the Prayagraj unit of the UP State Bridge Corporation conducted a survey of the area and prepared a detailed project report (DPR). With the government's approval now in place, the corporation is preparing to initiate the tendering process, officials shared.
