LUCKNOW, April 26 -- Lucknow police have arrested an accused carrying a Rs.50,000 reward-a former sabzi-puri vendor who allegedly joined a robbery gang to finance a luxurious lifestyle, officials said on Saturday.
"The accused, identified as Sumit Gupta (26), was arrested near Kukrail bridge in Indiranagar. Police recovered Rs.2.10 lakh in cash from his possession, which is believed to be part of the looted amount," said Kiran Yadav, ADCP (Crime).

The ADCP told HT that the accused previously sold sabzi-puri from a roadside cart.
"He allegedly turned to crime to fund a more luxurious lifestyle. He became part of the gang in pursuit of quick money and an upgraded way of living," she added. "Police had earlier arrested five accused in the case on April 10 and recovered Rs.45 lakh from them. Efforts were underway to trace the remaining suspects, following which a reward of Rs.50,000 each was announced on the absconding accused," she added.
According to police, the gang had been monitoring the movements of the collection agent and struck while he was on his way to deposit the cash. The accused used vehicles without number plates to avoid identification and later divided the looted money among themselves....
