RMLNLU swimming fest draws 200 participants
LUCKNOW, Aug. 18 -- Dr Ram Manohar Lohiya National Law University (RMLNLU), Lucknow, on Sunday hosted a swimming fest that witnessed enthusiastic participation. Swimmers across multiple age categories- under 7, 9, 11, 14, 19, 30, 40 and above 40-took part in the event.
Separate events were held for men and women where nearly 200 participants showcased their talent in four main styles namely freestyle, backstroke, butterfly and breaststroke. Over the course of the event, more than 400 medals were awarded to winners, making the fest a vibrant celebration of sportsmanship and excellence.
Addressing the participants, RMLNLU vice chancellor Prof Amar Pal Singh congratulated all the swimmers and highlighted the importance of cultivating a sporting culture alongside academics. "Swimming is one of those activities that exercises the body from head to toe. Practising swimming and participating in a swimming competition is a healthy trend, and those who have taken part in this event truly deserve accolades," he said. "I take this opportunity to wish the best of performance for all the participants. Winning and losing is part of life, but participation and striving for excellence is what truly matters. Therefore, make the best of this event and always give your best," Prof Singh said. The VC emphasised that sports not only build physical endurance but also instil discipline, patience, and teamwork-values essential for personal and professional growth.
