RMLIMS emergency wing ruckus: Nurse, guard assaulted, says hospital
Lucknow, March 9 -- A disturbance broke out at the emergency wing of Ram Manohar Lohia Institute of Medical Sciences (RMLIMS) late Saturday evening after a patient's attendant allegedly misbehaved with a staff nurse and created a ruckus on the hospital premises.
According to a statement issued by the hospital administration on Sunday, the situation escalated when a female attendant engaged in a physical altercation with the nurse on duty and later called others to the spot. The group allegedly created chaos in the emergency area and assaulted a security guard posted there. The institute said a formal complaint has been lodged with the police and a detailed inquiry into the incident is underway. Action will be taken as per rules after the investigation. The outpost incharge posted at the institute, Manish Kushwaha, said that CCTV footage from the emergency wing is being examined.
A woman had accused a female doctor and hospital staff of physical assault, harassment, and intimidation late Saturday evening. The woman had claimed that she visited the hospital's emergency wing with her younger sister where a doctor attempted to administer an injection but struggled. When the woman questioned her, the doctor jabbed the injection into her sister, causing pain. As she threatened to complain, the doctor slapped her, the woman claimed.
She further alleged that security guards and hospital staff beat her and her sister, damaged her mobile phone, and tore their clothes. She also alleged the staff touched them inappropriately and threatened to send them to jail and kill them.
