Lucknow, Aug. 28 -- Cricketer Rinku Singh on Thursday urged students of the Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) Lucknow to stay fit, avoid addictions and remain disciplined while pursuing their goals. He was the chief guest at a 'Khelo India Samvaad, Khel Ki Baat PM Ke Saath' programme organised at the institute ahead of National Sports Day. Accompanied by his coach Shailendra, he interacted with students and shared experiences from his cricketing journey, emphasising perseverance, discipline and consistent effort. The programme began with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's address, in which he said sports were not limited to winning medals but also helped develop discipline, confidence, resilience and teamwork. He also stressed the need to identify and nurture sporting talent across the country and encouraged young people to contribute to India's preparations for the 2036 Olympics. A fitness pledge was taken by students and members of the My Bharat team during the programme, reaffirming their commitment to incorporating physical activity into their daily lives.
