Relatives protest at KGMU over'hours-long' delay in autopsies
LUCKNOW, Aug. 22 -- Questions were raised over alleged negligence at the KGMU post-mortem house on Friday after forensic experts were allegedly delayed in conducting autopsies in the sensational double murder and suicide case involving Divya Mishra, Sheeba Bajpai and Manas Bajpai.
One of the experts from the department of forensic medicine and toxicology reached around three-and-a-half hours late to conduct the autopsy of Divya Mishra, who was allegedly shot dead by her husband, Manas Bajpai, on Thursday afternoon, according to relatives.The kin said they had to approach the forensic medicine department and create commotion before the doctor on duty arrived and the autopsy was conducted.
The postmortem examination of Manas Bajpai, who allegedly shot his sister Sheeba Bajpai before turning the gun on himself on Thursday, was also delayed by around five hours, relatives alleged.
They claimed they had to pressure another doctor on the panel to call the forensic expert from the department, following which the autopsy was eventually conducted.htc...
