LUCKNOW, June 14 -- Rahul Gandhi, leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, will be in Prayagraj on July 10 as part of the nationwide campaign against question paper leaks that he will launch from Kota, Rajasthan, on June 17. During the Prayagraj visit, the Congress MP from Rae Bareli will interact with students about issues such as alleged irregularities in competitive examinations. Prayagraj has been a focal point for protests against question paper leaks. As a major hub for students preparing for competitive examinations, the city has long been a key venue for student movements. "The campaign aims to highlight the hardship faced by millions of young Indians whose futures are repeatedly jeopardised due to frequent paper leaks and rising examination costs, exposing the government's failure to ensure a fair and transparent recruitment and education system," Anshu Awasthy, UP Congress spokesperson, said on Saturday. The campaign will be complemented through extensive outreach by the National Students' Union of India, Youth Congress, Pradesh Congress Committees, District Congress Committees and local units, he said. Prayagraj also serves as the ancestral home of the Nehru-Gandhi family. According to the schedule released by the Congress, Rahul Gandhi will kick off the campaign in Kota on June 17. He will visit Prayagraj on July 10, Patna on July 11, and Delhi on July 14 to interact with students. In recent protests, thousands of students united to hold marches in Prayagraj and demanded that recruitment processes be time-bound and transparent. The UP Congress has begun preparations for Rahul Gandhi's visit. Congress leaders said Rahul Gandhi will engage directly with students during the event in Prayagraj. Aspirants preparing for competitive exams, representatives of student organizations, and youths associated with various recruitment drives are likely to be invited.
