LUCKNOW, April 8 -- The Lucknow bench of the Allahabad high court has refrained from examining records submitted by the home ministry in connection with the alleged dual citizenship controversy involving Congress MP Rahul Gandhi, during the in-chamber hearing on April 6. The case was heard in the judge's chamber instead of the courtroom because the central government had described it as a sensitive issue. The order in the case, made available on the high court's website on Tuesday, stated that while central government officials were present with the records, the court was not, at this stage, examining the veracity of the allegations against Rahul Gandhi, and therefore, the records were not examined. The court issued this order on a petition filed by BJP activist S Vignesh Shishir. The petitioner had challenged the January 28 order of the Lucknow special MP/MLA court, which rejected the request for an FIR against Rahul Gandhi. htc...
