Questioning 'Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao' insult to women power: Minister
LUCKNOW, Sept. 11 -- Horticulture minister Dinesh Pratap Singh on Thursday launched a sharp attack on Congress MP Rahul Gandhi over his conduct in the District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee (DISHA) meeting in Rae Bareli recently.
Singh alleged that instead of reviewing welfare schemes to expedite them, Gandhi focused on finding faults in schemes like 'Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao'.
The horticulture minister said the Congress leader asked officials what happens in 'Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao' and stressed on publicity expenditure, giving an impression that his priority was to pick holes rather than ensuring benefits reach masses.
