Quack held for biting off man's finger during clinic scuffle
LUCKNOW, May 17 -- In a bizarre incident in Gudamba area, police on Saturday arrested a 31-year-old self-styled practitioner accused of biting off part of a man's finger during an argument over delayed medical treatment.
The accused, identified as Tayyab Ali alias Dr Tayyab Ali, was arrested from a ground behind MD Palace near Tedhipulia, police said.
According to police, the complainant, Fazlu alias Rafiq, a resident of Ahilyabai Nagar near Kalyanpur, lodged an FIR alleging that the accused assaulted him, bit his finger and threatened to kill him during a dispute on May 14. "During questioning, the accused told police that he had pursued 'Kamil' and 'Fazil' courses from a madrasa under the Madrasa Education Board and claimed these were equivalent to a BUMS qualification," Gudamba SHO Anjani Kumar Mishra said.
The SHO said Tayyab claimed he had been treating the complainant's son for hydrocele and the complainant wanted an immediate cure, leading to a scuffle at the clinic.
Police have booked the accused under BNS sections related to voluntarily causing hurt, grievous hurt and criminal intimidation, according to an official statement by police. htc...
