PRAYAGRAJ, Sept. 10 -- The Uttar Pradesh public works department (PWD) initiated disciplinary action against senior officials after cracks appeared on a 350-metre stretch of road at Shringverpur Dham, developed under the prestigious Ram Van Gaman Marg project. Taking a serious view of the matter, head of department (HOD), PWD, Lucknow AK Dwivedi has suspended Ravindrapal Singh, executive engineer of the National Highway Division, citing negligence and lack of proper supervision of the work. The department has also issued a notice to superintending engineer Omkar Bharti, directing him to report to headquarters and submit a written explanation within 15 days.
