Pvt e-buses to run on 10 routes each in Lko, Kanpur
Lucknow, Sept. 3 -- The Uttar Pradesh government will operate electric buses in Lucknow and Kanpur on 10 city routes each under the net cost contract model under which the selected private operators will bear all the cost with the government only acting as a regulator and facilitator.
The Cabinet approved the urban development department's proposal in this regard in its meeting here on Tuesday.
Briefing the media persons of the Cabinet decision, minister for urban development and energy, AK Sharma, said 10 e-buses each on 10 as many routes in Lucknow and Kanpur will be operated by private players. The government, he said, would issue licences to the operators selected for the routes. He said that government will provide charging infrastructure to these buses under a 12-year contract. The 10 routes identified in Lucknow are: Charbagh-Barabanki, Kamta-Airport, Balaganj-Mohanlal Ganj, Balaganj-Viraj Khand, Charbagh-Malkhana, Charbagh-Deva, Charbagh-Kursi, Scooters India-Engineering College, Dubagga-Gangaganj and Charbagh-Sandila. htc...
