AGRA, June 3 -- Chief election commissioner (CEC) of India, Gyanesh Kumar, on Tuesday highlighted that the purity of the voter list is the foundation of transparent elections, and called upon citizens to get their names enlisted and participate in the polls. Kumar, who was in his hometown Agra since Monday, visited his parents' residence in Vijay Nagar Colony to seek their blessings and subsequently offered prayers at Mankameshwar, a prominent Shiv temple in the heart of old Agra city on Tuesday. Speaking after offering prayers, a relaxed CEC said, "'After successful and transparent elections in five states recently, I am here in Agra to seek blessings from my parents. I also sought blessings from Lord Mahadev who is merciful to me and blesses me all the way.'"He also went to Kailash Mahadev temple on the outskirts of the city.
