Public representatives act as key link, says CM Dhami
Dehradun, Aug. 3 -- Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Sunday said that public representatives of various government bodies act as a crucial bridge between the government and the public and have an important role in addressing people's concerns and ensuring welfare schemes reach every section of society.
He made the remarks during an interaction with chairpersons, presidents and vice-presidents of various state government committees, councils and bodies at Mukhya Sevak Sadan in Dehradun. BJP state president Mahendra Bhatt also participated in the meeting and discussed organisational issues with the participants.
Dhami said public representatives not only help in disseminating information about government policies and welfare schemes among the masses, but also convey public expectations, grievances and suggestions to the government. He urged them to maintain regular contact with people in their respective areas and work proactively and sensitively towards resolving public issues.
The chief minister stressed the need for continuous monitoring of development projects and directed the office-bearers to bring important suggestions and grievances received from the public to the notice of the concerned departments and the administration for their speedy resolution.
Dhami said under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the state government is working towards the overall development of Uttarakhand and the welfare of all sections of society.
He added that the government is committed to ensuring that the benefits of development and welfare schemes reach the last person in society and that the active participation of public representatives is essential in achieving this objective.
During the meeting, Mahendra Bhatt called upon them to actively participate in upcoming organisational programmes with enthusiasm and a sense of responsibility. He said that specific responsibilities would soon be assigned to them for various party programmes across different mandals and regions of the state.
Bhatt also emphasised the importance of maintaining close coordination with the organisation while discharging official responsibilities. Highlighting the growing significance of social media as a medium of public communication, he urged the representatives to remain active on digital platforms and effectively disseminate information about welfare schemes, development projects and major decisions of both the central and state governments.
He asked them to ensure that information about government schemes reaches eligible beneficiaries and to work towards strengthening coordination between the government, the organisation and the public.
The chief minister said that the collective efforts of the government, the organisation and the people would accelerate Uttarakhand's journey towards becoming a strong, prosperous and self-reliant state....
