Property dealer murder case: Prayagraj police nabs sixth accused
PRAYAGRAJ, May 9 -- In a fresh development in the murder case of property dealer Mohammad Irfan, the police on Friday arrested another accused, nearly a month after the incident.
Kareli police apprehended wanted accused Arbaaz Khan from the Sursukhdehri river area, officials said.
According to police, Arbaaz Khan, a resident of Naya Purwa, had been absconding since the murder. With his arrest, six accused have so far been sent to jail in connection with the case. However, the main accused, Asif Durrani - who carries a reward of Rs 25,000 - and Nasir Jamal still remain at large.
The incident occurred on the evening of April 8 near Bismillah Crossing in Ainuddinpur, where property dealer Mohammad Irfan was shot dead.
Following a complaint lodged by the victim's family, Kareli police registered a case against former Atiq Ahmad gang shooter Asif Durrani, his brother Rashid Durrani, his sister, and several others.
Earlier, police had arrested and jailed five accused, including Rashid Durrani, who also carried a reward of Rs 25,000 and is alleged to have been directly involved in the shooting.
SHO of Kareli police station Ashish Singh said four accused had fled the scene on two motorcycles after the murder, and Arbaaz Khan was among them. Acting on a tip-off, police arrested him on Friday....
