Principal removed after students protest over unhygienic food
Rudrapur, Aug. 12 -- The principal of Eklavya Model Residential School in Khatima, Udham Singh Nagar, was removed from the post following a protest by students over unhygienic food, contaminated drinking water, poor sanitation and other irregularities at the residential school.
The action was taken on the directions of CM Pushkar Singh Dhami after local BJP workers brought the students' complaints to his notice.
The director of the Scheduled Tribe Welfare Department subsequently removed principal Bharti Yadav and attached her to the office of the Scheduled Tribe Welfare Officer.
On Monday evening, students staged a sit-in on the school premises and raised slogans against the principal, alleging that basic facilities and food being provided to them were inadequate.
"We talked to the children and found their complaints genuine.
On the basis of our report, the director of the Scheduled Tribe Welfare Department removed the principal and handed over the charge to a senior teacher," said Birendra Sajwan, tehsildar, Khatima....
