Preps in place for Braj 84-kos parikrama
AGRA, May 18 -- Mathura Police have geared up for an enhanced flow of devotees likely in that district throughout the 'Adhik Maas' (extra month of the Hindu calendar) that started on Sunday during which Braj 84-kos parikrama will be undertaken by the faithful. Of the total around 250 km route, 126-km falls in Mathura.
Giving this information, Suresh Chandra Rawat, SP (Mathura rural), said the 126 km parikrama route that falls in Mathura has been marked as a super zone comprising 3 zones and 6 sectors.
"Special deployment of police force will be at pressure points and two-layered blockages are to be operative for traffic diversion. No vehicles will be allowed towards Daan Ghati temple in Govardhan and if required, traffic will be passed through Ekta Tiraha in Mathura on days when traffic increases," the SP rural added.
"We have sought cooperation from locals asking them to minimise vehicular movement during the night because most devotees take the parikrama route during night hours due to the heat," Rawat said.
Chandra Prakash Singh, Mathura DM, and Shlok Kumar, SSP, held a meeting on Saturday to finalise preparations for 'Adhik Maas'.
The 84-kos parikrama route passes through Jaidpura village in Aligarh district and crosses Naujheel, Sureer, Mant, Raya, Mahawan, Baldev, Sadar Bazar, and the Mogarra area of Mathura. It then enters the border of Rajasthan and re-enters the Mathura district at Kosi Kalan before moving to Haryana....
