PRAYAGRAJ, Aug. 31 -- A 20-year-old man who had returned home from Mumbai to celebrate Raksha Bandhan with his family, was killed after being run over by a freight train while allegedly watching reels on his mobile phone and walking along the Dedicated Freight Corridor (DFC) railway track in the Kokhraj area on Sunday morning. The deceased has been identified as Shani Saroj, a resident of Bamhrauli village. According to family members, Shani worked for a private company in Mumbai and had recently come home for the festival. Police said the incident occurred at around 7.30 am near Bamhrauli village. According to witnesses and preliminary inquiries, the train driver repeatedly sounded the horn in an attempt to alert the youth and prevent an accident. However, Shani remained engrossed in his mobile phone and failed to notice the approaching train. He was subsequently struck and run over, resulting in his death on the spot. Kokhraj Station House Officer (SHO) Santosh Sharma said preliminary investigations suggest that the victim was distracted by his mobile phone while walking on the railway track....
