Prayagraj Jeweller robbed, injured in attack
PRAYAGRAJ, Feb. 25 -- Three unidentified motorcycle-borne men attacked a jeweller on his way home late Tuesday evening near the Panchayat Bhawan in Chakdeeha, under Manda police station, and fled with a bag containing a licensed revolver, 200g of gold, 5kg of silver and Rs.1 lakh in cash, police said.
Pradeep Kumar Soni, who runs a jewellery shop with his brother in Chilbila Bazar, was waylaid around 6.50pm after closing his shop. The assailants beat him with the butt of country-made weapons and threatened villagers who tried to intervene. The injured jeweller was rushed to a nearby hospital and later referred to a city hospital for further treatment.
Confirming the incident, SHO Anil Verma said a complaint has been filed and an FIR will be registered under the relevant sections after the primary investigation. He added CCTV footage of the area is being scrutinized. htc...
