Prayagraj DM orders strict action against identified land mafia
PRAYAGRAJ, Feb. 11 -- District magistrate Manish Kumar Verma, while chairing the Anti-Land Mafia Task Force meeting at the camp office on Tuesday, directed sub-divisional magistrates and assistant police commissioners to take strict action against identified land mafia under the Goonda Act, Gangster Act and other legal provisions. He instructed officials to identify active land mafia, remove illegal encroachments and submit updated lists of government land that has been occupied. All departments, including the Municipal Corporation, district panchayat, Prayagraj development authority, basic education and PWD, were asked to certify that no illegal encroachments exist on their lands and to immediately act against those found guilty.
The DM directed SDMs to hold tehsil-level task force meetings within 15 days, identify habitual offenders involved in repeated land grabbing as per government guidelines, and ensure timely updates on the portal. He emphasised that no land mafia should escape action.
The district administration has identified individuals as land mafia, including Waqar Ahmed (Rasulpur, Puramufti), Arvind Kumar Kesarwani (Preetam Nagar, Dhoomanganj), Jasim Ahmed and Zaid Khalid (Alka Bihar Colony, Bamrauli), Pramod Kumar Kesarwani (Chayal Pipri, Kaushambi), Rahil Siddiqui (Puramufti), Mahmood Akhtar (Chafri Atrampur, Nawabganj), Abu Zaid (Alka Bihar, Bamrauli Ponghat), Dilshad (Mariadih, Sadar), Dhirendra Pratap Singh and Vikas Singh (Sarbhuja Bhojpur, Bihar), and Amit Kumar Shukla (Sohbatiya Bagh)....
