PRAYAGRAJ, Aug. 25 -- Police have detained a dance instructor accused of sexually assaulting a three-year-old girl at a private play school in the Cantonment area. The accused, a minor from the Chowk locality, who taught dance classes at the school, is expected to appear in court on Tuesday for further legal proceedings. According to police sources, the child's medical examination indicated signs consistent with an alleged attempted sexual assault. Investigators are currently collecting CCTV footage and other evidence for the ongoing probe. The victim's parents, both medical professionals, had enrolled their daughter in the play school only a few days before the alleged incident. On Sunday, the child's mother filed a complaint with the Cantonment police, accusing the dance instructor of assaulting her daughter. Following the complaint, police registered an FIR, launched an investigation, and detained the accused. Officials said the instructor is 17-years-old and that the alleged incident occurred four to five days before it was reported. The matter surfaced after the child complained of discomfort to her mother. Police subsequently initiated an inquiry and recorded statements from school staff.
