Power outage hits 110 villages in Deoria after LT lines snap
GORAKHPUR, June 29 -- Electricity supply to around 110 villages in Deoria district was disrupted on Sunday after low-tension (LT) power lines snapped at three locations, affecting nearly three lakh residents.
The outage occurred under the 33/11 KV Tarkulwa power substation after LT cables snapped in Khairat, Khutha and Basantpur villages, officials said.
Executive engineer Lavlesh Singh said restoration work was being carried out on a war footing and power supply would be restored as soon as possible.
Residents blamed the repeated outages on ageing power infrastructure, including old wires, damaged cross-arms, worn-out insulators and weak power lines.
They demanded an immediate upgrade of the electricity distribution system....
