Police yet to identify three bodies found on Agra train tracks
Agra, Aug. 19 -- Efforts are on by Agra police to identify the three deceased whose bodies were found near to a train track within the limits of the Barhan police station of Agra. These bodies were of a man, a woman and a child, which were found at different locations within 24 hours since August 15.
According to the assistant commissioner of police (ACP) Etmadpur circle, Devesh Singh, the police are considering all three deaths as isolated cases of accidental death but investigations are on with the focus on establishing their identities.
"Information was received on August 15 at Barhan police station about a man colliding with a goods train and the body lying on the train track. Information was given by the driver of the goods train passing through the Barhan area of Agra district.
"The man had jumped before the goods train and the engine driver of the train stopped at Barhan station and communicated the message to the station master who informed the police at Barhan police station. Despite efforts made, the deceased is yet to be identified.
"The next day, at about 7 am, information was received through a gang man about the dead body of a woman, aged about 25, lying at the train track. Prima facie, it appeared that the woman had fallen from a moving train and death was caused by collision with a tree, as reflected from the wounds on the body.
"The body was shifted to the mortuary and efforts are on to identify the woman.
"Later, on the same day, at about 4 pm on August 16, information was received about the dead body of a girl, appearing to be aged about 10 to 11 years. The dead body was found near the down line connecting Delhi with Tundla. The body could not be identified and sent to the mortuary," the ACP said.
"The process of identification of these three bodies, at different locations at different timing but within the limits of the Barhan police station of Agra, is on," he said, terming these deaths as isolated accidental cases....
