Police probe fake posts on Lekhpal examination
Lucknow, May 26 -- An FIR against unidentified persons was registered at Vibhuti Khand police station in Lucknow on Monday for spreading rumours and misleading information regarding the Lekhpal Main Examination conducted by the Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC).
The case was lodged following a formal complaint submitted by the Commission alleging that certain anti-social elements circulated false and misleading posts on social media platforms in an attempt to create confusion among candidates and tarnish the image of the recruitment process.
Police said an investigation has been initiated and will be closely monitored by senior officers, including DCP (East) Deeksha Sharma, additional DCP (East) Amol Murkut and ACP Vibhuti Khand Vinay Diwedi.
The Commission said the Lekhpal Main Examination was conducted in a fair, transparent and integrity-driven manner at 861 centres across 44 districts of Uttar Pradesh.
