Pol support comes in for protesting LU students
LUCKNOW, June 4 -- The indefinite protest against the expulsion of students at Lucknow University received a shot in the arm with political support coming in on the second day, on Wednesday.
The expelled students, Prince Prakash, Prem Yadav, and Harshit Shukla, along with other students are marking a protest demanding the revocation of their expulsion and protection of their right to education.
A delegation sent by Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav visited the protest site. The delegation interacted with the protesting students and assured them that the SP stands with them in their struggle. The delegation conveyed that Yadav is personally monitoring the situation.
The movement also received support from the UP Congress Committee. UP Congress vice-president Dinesh Singh and state spokesperson Sudhanshu visited the protest site and met the students.
