Lucknow, Aug. 11 -- The state government has approved the construction of 73,184 new houses in 137 urban local bodies under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Urban 2.0 (PMAY-U 2.0). The approval was given at a meeting of the State Level Sanctioning and Monitoring Committee (SLSMC), chaired by chief secretary SP Goyal, on Monday. The houses have been sanctioned under the Beneficiary Led Construction (BLC) component of the scheme, under which eligible beneficiaries construct their own houses with government assistance.
