Agra, April 1 -- : To enhance the beauty of the Yamuna riverfront in Vrindavan, geological mapping of the ghats between KC Ghat and Devraha Baba Ghat will be carried out on a trial basis. The exercise aims to assess silt conditions, water flow and pollution levels in the stretch passing through Mathura. The proposal was discussed at a meeting held on Monday at the Uttar Pradesh Braj Teerth Vikas Parishad (UPBTVP) office, chaired by its vice-chairman Shailja Kant Mishra. Founder of Global Vikas Trust Mayank Gandhi presented a plan to gather scientific data for river restoration. "A pilot project will study the stretch between KC Ghat and Devraha Baba Ghat. A detailed plan will be prepared based on the findings," Mishra said. District magistrate Chandra Prakash Singh directed the irrigation department to support the initiative.
