Pithoragarh, Dec. 21 -- The forest department in Pithoragarh has decided to use Artificial Intelligence-based technology to keep wild animals away from human settlements. Under the initiative, AI-enabled trap cameras will be installed at sensitive locations prone to wildlife movement, an official said. Ashutosh Singh, divisional forest officer (DFO) of the Pithoragarh forest division, said: "We will soon install five such cameras in bear attack-prone areas of Dharchula," he said. "The AI-powered trap cameras are specially designed to identify animals such as bears and leopards. Once a wild animal enters within a radius of about 150 metres of the installation point, the system is automatically activated," the DFO said....
