Lucknow, June 21 -- The house listing work under the first phase of Census 2027 conducted in Uttar Pradesh from May 22 to June 20 has been completed with 100% coverage within the stipulated timeframe, a spokesperson said. This exercise covered all administrative units of the state spanning 75 districts, 350 tehsils, 17 municipal corporations, 200 municipal councils, 545 nagar panchayats, 13 cantonment boards, and 8 industrial townships. It covered approximately 1.04 lakh villages and 14,983 wards organised into 1,195 charges and 390,717 house-listing blocks. Approximately five lakh enumerators and supervisors actively participated in this process. The Directorate of Census Operations, Uttar Pradesh, thanked the chief secretary and the Registrar General & Census Commissioner for their support.
