PRAYAGRAJ, July 25 -- The Prayagraj Development Authority (PDA) has approved the layout plan for a modern group housing project comprising 600 flats under the Kasari Masari Housing Scheme. Based on public feedback gathered through a first-of-its-kind residential preference survey, the authority decided to construct only 2-BHK apartments in the project. PDA vice-chairman Rishi Raj approved the layout plan, paving the way for the project's construction to begin shortly. The PDA conducted a three-day survey from July 12 to July 15, inviting citizens to express their preferences among 1-BHK, 2-BHK and 3-BHK housing options. Participants were required to visit the PDA office and submit a form, for which a nominal fee of Rs 50 was charged to ensure serious participation. More than 1,000 people took part in the exercise, with the overwhelming majority favoring 2-BHK flats. Based on these responses, the PDA decided to develop all 600 units as 2-BHK apartments. The housing complex will also include amenities such as parks, children's play areas with swings, and a community centre. The project aims to provide affordable housing to middle- and lower-income families. During the survey, the PDA proposed indicative prices of Rs 20 lakh for 1-BHK flats, Rs 25 lakh for 2-BHK flats, and Rs 50 lakh for 3-BHK flats. With the final plan restricted to 2-BHK units, the apartments are expected to remain significantly more affordable than those offered by private developers, where similar flats can cost up to Rs 1 crore. The proposed housing site enjoys strategic connectivity. Residents will be able to reach Prayagraj Junction railway station in about 10 minutes, while the Allahabad high court and Civil Lines bus stand will be accessible within 10-15 minutes....
