Dehradun, May 16 -- Uttarakhand Special Task Force (STF) has arrested a 34-year-old man from Punjab in connection with an alleged Rs.1.87 crore cyber fraud in which a retired ONGC official from Dehradun was duped on the pretext of earning high returns through online share trading and investment schemes, officials said on Friday. Senior superintendent of police (STF) Ajai Singh said the accused, identified as Sukhraj Singh, a resident of Ludhiana in Punjab, was arrested following an investigation into a complaint lodged by the victim at the Cyber Crime Police Station in Dehradun on April 15. According to police, the complainant was contacted through WhatsApp and phone calls by cyber fraudsters posing as authorised employees of a reputed asset management company.
