Prayagraj, June 5 -- A tense situation unfolded at a local medical college on Thursday afternoon when a 40-year-old patient, who was receiving treatment for mental health issues, jumped from a fourth-floor balcony. The individual survived the fall after landing in a safety net deployed by emergency responders. The man had been admitted to the facility on Wednesday evening after being found unconscious near Naya Ka Purwa village, within the jurisdiction of the Lalganj Kotwali police station. According to hospital sources, the incident began on Thursday afternoon when the patient exited his ward through a window and climbed onto the balcony railing. The scene caused significant panic among other patients, attendants and staff. Local police and the fire brigade arrived shortly after being alerted.
