LUCKNOW, July 13 -- Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak on Sunday launched the 'Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam' plantation campaign at Atal Bihari Vajpayee Medical University (ABVMU), where around 1,000 saplings were planted on the campus and nearly three lakh saplings were planted across the university's affiliated medical, nursing and paramedical colleges. Pathak said environmental conservation is the responsibility of every citizen. He said expanding green cover is essential to tackle pollution and climate change while securing a healthier future, stated a press release shared with the media. Additional Chief Secretary, Medical Education, Amit Kumar Ghosh also participated. ABVMU Controller of Examinations, Dr Devashish Shukla said trees improve air quality by absorbing carbon dioxide and other harmful gases while increasing oxygen levels.
