pact signed to strengthen services for disabled people
Lucknow, July 1 -- Dr Shakuntala Misra National Rehabilitation University (DSMNRU) has signed a three-year agreement with Jaipur-based Bhagwan Mahaveer Viklang Sahayata Samiti (BMVSS) to strengthen rehabilitation services for persons with disabilities.
Under the partnership, the two institutions will work together on prosthetics, orthotics, assistive devices, rehabilitation science, inclusive education and research. The initiative aims to improve access to modern artificial limbs, rehabilitation services, skill development and employment-oriented training, helping persons with disabilities become more self-reliant.
Vice-chancellor Acharya Sanjay Singh said students will benefit from internships, field visits, rehabilitation camps and hands-on training to gain practical experience. The collaboration will also focus on entrepreneurship development, manufacturing low-cost assistive devices, awareness campaigns and expanding rehabilitation services in rural areas.
The university will provide academic and research support, while BMVSS will contribute technical expertise, rehabilitation services and training. Both organisations will also conduct joint research, workshops, seminars and training programmes to promote innovation in rehabilitation....
