PRAYAGRAJ, Sept. 1 -- The Pratapgarh police are set to confiscate properties worth Rs.1.49 crore belonging to smuggler Rajesh Mishra. An order in this regard was issued by the Pratapgarh district magistrate SS Awasthi under the Gangster Act. Rajesh Mishra, a resident of Mundipur in Manikpur police station area, has 14 cases registered against him under NDPS and Gangster Act. According to the orders of the Pratapgarh DM, the drug smuggler's house, shop, and bank accounts will be seized. Recently, police arrested his five accomplices with drugs, including ganja and smack. Rajesh Mishra has been absconding for the past couple of years, while police continue to raid all possible hideouts in search of him. It is worth mentioning that Rajesh Mishra, the kingpin of an interstate drug smuggling gang was last arrested in October 2019 by the special task force of Uttar Pradesh police. At that time, he carried a reward of Rs.25,000 on his arrest. Mishra is believed to be running a network that smuggles narcotics from Odisha and Jharkhand for supply across eastern UP....
