Over 800 participate in Yoga Day event at AMU
Agra, June 22 -- Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) celebrated the 12th International Day of Yoga at the Department of Physical Education on Sunday, with more than 800 students, faculty members, officers, employees and yoga enthusiasts participating in the event themed "Yoga for Healthy Ageing." Vice-Chancellor Prof. Naima Khatoon, the chief guest, lauded the Department of Physical Education for organising the programme and described yoga as a holistic discipline that promotes harmony between body, mind and spirit. Sharing her personal experiences, she highlighted yoga's role in improving health, emotional resilience and overall well-being, while stressing the importance of preventive healthcare and healthy lifestyles. The programme was organised under the patronage of the Vice-Chancellor, with Pro Vice-Chancellor Prof. Mohd. Mohsin Khan as co-patron and Registrar Prof. Aasim Zafar as convenor.
